The Rock and Roman Reigns, the titans of The Bloodline, are rumored to square off in the dream match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, but fans of the WWE may have to wait longer. Based on the most recent sources, the two largest draw matches will take place at the “Showcase of the Immortals,” but not at the next one, as Night 2 will include current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes.
Roman Reigns vs. Rock was supposed to take place at WrestleMania 39, but it was canceled because Rock and the WWE couldn’t agree on the dates. The creative pushed for this main event battle once more for WrestleMania 40 a year later, but this plan was shelved once more after the audience became incensed at the Rock and Triple H (the COO) for not giving Cody a chance against Roman despite Cody winning the Royal Rumble.
But the WWE tried to have a contest with all of the biggest names as the main event of Night 1, starting with a tag match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins and Rhodes. Even though they both performed flawlessly, which led to their victory, Roman’s inadvertent spearing of The Rock caused a stir and set up the two’s plot.
The main event of Night 2 featured Roman and Rhodes, where the American Nightmare defeated Reigns in a title fight for the first time in three years with the assistance of Seth Rollins, John Cena, and the “Deadman,” The Undertaker. Cody’s goal of “finishing the story” and earning the WWE title was achieved with that victory.
According to WRKD Wrestling, The Rock, who was supposed to meet Roman Reigns at Mania the following year, may suddenly face Cody Rhodes on Night 2. Though it will happen at WrestleMania 42 in London, UK, the notion of a Rock-Roman WrestleMania match is not completely abandoned.
The two fights that could be the main events of WrestleMania 41 are likely Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa and The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He stated that this concept has been discussed by the creative team since Mania this year.
“The main matches of WrestleMania 41 are most likely The Rock and Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. We’ve known it since WrestleMania 40. since WrestleMania’s last day. “They’re making reservations well in advance for the essential items,” Meltzer stated.
The Brahma Bull, meanwhile, hinted to his RAW matchup with Cody Rhodes following Mania, noting that even though he will be taking a break right now, he will come back to challenge Cody regardless of his title. However, Roman made a comeback at SummerSlam 2024 to unseat Solo Sikoa as Tribal Chief.
