American sprinter Noah Lyles narrowly prevailed in a dramatic photo finish to win the men’s 100-meter race at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
At the Stade de France, the 27-year-old won gold by a just five thousandths of a second over Kishane Thompson of Jamaica. Both sprinters finished with times of 9.79 seconds.
Lyles finished in 9.784 seconds, Thompson finished in 9.789, and Fred Kerley of the USA claimed third place with a timing of 9.81 seconds.
