The transfer of Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen from Napoli to Chelsea appears to be seriously jeopardized due to the player’s outrageous wage demands, as per reports. The 25-year-old is reportedly seeking a contract worth £500,000 per week, which would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League. The Blues have been trying all summer to finalize the deal, and their ongoing talks with both the striker’s representatives and Napoli have not resulted in an agreement.
The Italian team turned down Chelsea’s initial attempt to take the Napoli player on loan because they could not afford to pay his £110 million release clause.
The Sun claims that Napoli has reduced their asking price for Osimhen to a more reasonable £85 million, but the wages are still a problem.
Regardless of whether his deal with Chelsea goes through or not, Osimhen is poised to leave Napoli this summer after submitting a formal transfer request to the Italian team.
