Nigeria’s ladies’ team, the Super Falcons, will stage a walk to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa Wednesday morning to dissent the non-payment of their privileges.
The eight-time African champions have set out on a sit-in challenge at their inn since they won the ninth release of the African Women competition in Cameroon to press for unpaid privileges.
In an announcement by one of the dissent coordinators, Aderonke Bello-Ogunleye, the team are prepared to convey bulletins and continue on a serene challenge to the state house, where the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting will happen, in demand of their recompenses and rewards which is assessed to be $24,000 each, roughly N11.5m per player.
“This is lamentably a customary event to female football in Nigeria, we treat our triumphant young ladies with despise and aggregate disregard as all the time…disgraceful truly,” said Aderonke.
“It is unfathomable that the NFF/Federal government are unwilling to pay the players their duty in the wake of winning the trophy. This needs to stop and the young ladies must be paid their duty.
“We will dissent the unjustifiable treatment allotted to these champions who have won the competition eight circumstances, making them the best football team in Nigeria, and we trust the government will listen to their supplication.”
