Democrats are in a panic, fearing for their political future as a result of US President Joe Biden’s clumsy performance against former President Donald Trump during the US Presidential Election debate. Biden’s stumbles included lost trains of thought, broken lines, and stammering.
A wave of fear swept over the Democratic Party as several members demanded that Biden step aside during the bruising and at times personal attacks-filled debate.
A “deep, wide, and very aggressive panic” including strategists, officials, and fundraisers was reportedly present within the Democratic Party.
“Biden looks and sounds terrible,” a former staffer in the Biden administration remarked. Another Democratic operative referred to his performance as “horrific,” calling him “incoherent.”
A Democratic staffer who worked on various campaigns exclaimed, “We are f***ed.”
David Axelrod, a campaign official for former president Barack Obama, stated, “There is a sense of shock at how he came out at the beginning of this debate.” His voice sounded like. He seems a little lost. There will be conversations over whether or not he should go on.
“The best thing I can do to help Joe Biden is to pretend I didn’t get your text,” a Democratic legislator said.
Democrats were divided about who should lead the ticket as the debate drew to a close. One seasoned campaign strategist said, “It’s hard to argue that Biden should be our nominee.” Vice President Kamala Harris tried to assuage Democratic concerns by pointing out that Biden had a “slow start” but emphasised his strong finish.
