According to reports, Arsenal is about to complete a big £42.5 million trade deal to acquire Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman from Atalanta. Sportitalia reports that the Gunners are willing to include defender Jakub Kiwior in the deal, with an offer of €50 million, or roughly £42.5 million. The transfer cost may be less if Kiwior is included in the deal. The Polish defender is anticipated to leave North London shortly, despite of a transfer to Atalanta. He was not included in Mikel Arteta’s squad for Arsenal’s season-opening victory over Wolves.
After his outstanding performance in the Europa League final, where he scored a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen, Lookman has been in great demand. PSG and Saudi Pro League teams are interested in signing the 26-year-old winger this summer.
“In the last few years, I’ve been able to consistently raise the bar for myself. After the Europa League final, Lookman remarked, “Perhaps it would have arrived sooner.”
However, it has now arrived, and I’m happy with my development. I hope for more nights like this and for things to only get better because this is just the beginning. That’s the crucial element.
Lookman was noticeably missing from Atalanta’s roster for their season opener against Lecce on Monday, despite playing in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid. This was apparently because of an approach from PSG.
His absence from training recently adds credence to the rumors that his time in Italy may be coming to an end.
