It looks like Tenacious D might be returning.
At the “Borderlands” premiere on Tuesday, Jack Black told Variety that the comic rock group “will be back” after their Spicy Meatball Tour was canceled because of his bandmate Kyle Gass’s contentious remarks regarding the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
“We must pause for a moment. Everyone requires occasional downtime. I adore Tenacious D,” Black remarked, “and we’ll be back.” If you may say that, I think this is my favorite job. It’s my kid and a piece of art.”
“Yeah, we’re friends,” the actor responded to the site when asked if he and Gass had communicated since their tour was canceled. That is still the same. Sometimes, these things take time. And when it feels appropriate, we’ll return.”
Tenacious D may make a comeback after the “School of Rock” star admitted to being “blindsided” by Gass’ comment to “don’t miss Trump next time” on stage during their July 14 performance in a statement to USA TODAY on July 16.
In addition, Black declared that he was calling off the Tenacious D tour and postponing his plans to collaborate with Gass.
The rock star and actor declared, “I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.” “After giving it some thought, I’ve decided that it is no longer suitable to carry out the Tenacious D tour, and I’ve put a stop to any further creative preparations. I am appreciative of the fans’ understanding and support.”
On July 14, while Tenacious D was performing in Sydney, Black gave Gass a cake as a birthday present and instructed him to make a wish. “Don’t miss Trump the next time,” Gass stated, alluding to the attempted murder of the president.
Following the show, Gass apologized for the comment and clarified that it was not planned in a statement he posted to Instagram.
“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake,” he stated. “I oppose violence against anyone, in any form, at any time. It was a catastrophe, and I deeply apologize for my profoundly poor judgment.”

He continued, “I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”
