According to Netanyahu, Israel has nearly finished destroying the Hamas army in Gaza.
“After visiting the Gaza Division yesterday, I came back to witness highly noteworthy victories in the combat in Rafah. Netanyahu stated, “We are moving closer to the goal of completely destroying the terrorist Hamas force and will keep hitting its strongholds.
At the National Security College, the Israeli prime minister addressed a gathering of military officers from both Israel and other countries.
He restated Israel’s commitment to winning the war against Hamas, which includes rescuing hostages from Gaza, destroying Hamas’s ability to rule and use force, making sure Gaza is no longer a threat to Israel, and safely resettling displaced Israeli citizens in both the north and the south.
Notably, Israeli commanders had insisted that the southern Gaza city was Hamas’ final stronghold before beginning a military offensive in Rafah in May.
Last month, Netanyahu made reference of the impending end of the war’s intense phase with Hamas and the potential change in the military’s attention to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.
“The battle will not finish soon; rather, it will end in Rafah at this point in time. That is accurate. On June 23, Channel 14 Television cited Netanyahu as stating, “We will keep mowing the grass later.”
Notably, on October 7, Hamas attacked southern Israel, resulting in at least 1,200 deaths and over 250 kidnappings. This prompted Israel to begin its military campaign in Gaza.
According to Gaza health officials, Israeli attacks in Gaza have since resulted in at least 37,718 Palestinian deaths and 86,377 injuries.
