Early on Monday, July 1, media sources stated that an acid assault at a cafe in Bochum, Germany, had injured at least nine individuals. According to the police, at approximately 3:25 p.m. local time on Sunday, a guy entered the café and doused a patron seated at a table in the outdoor area with an acidic substance.
The authorities also said that the victim had critical injuries. A waitress and the woman seated next to the sufferer were reportedly also hurt, according to a story by The Standard. After being called to the scene, two firefighters and four police officers were also hurt when they came into touch with the liquid.
After initially running from the scene, the perpetrator was taken into custody. According to the authorities, an inquiry has been started and the attack’s motivation is unknown. Identification of the chemical used in the incident was also being pursued.
Meanwhile, an ASB Zeitung story stated that the crime scene was guarded, the attacker’s identity remained unknown, and investigators were gathering evidence.
